Scammers and Liars
By Liz Burman, 03/08/23
Like many of the other posts when January came around I knew it was contract renewal and so I looked about, got a better deal and then decided to cancel my contract with Biffa. Ha ha! However, my joy was shortlived as because by the time the contract was due for renewal - Biffa said that my contract was a rolling one and as it was over the renewal date (23rd January renewal) 6th February they got back to me and said it was over the renewal date and I now owed 41% rolling charges equating to over £420. I am still cancelling and will go elsewhere so these scam artists don't play me again as they are nothing but trouble. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Biffa is stable company
By Tuba, 02/24/22
They are stable in continuosly lying. They sent me an email saying that they will collect the bin on 07.10.2021. I called them numerous time. No result. I sent them another email yesterday, waiting for a reply. But I got no hope. If there is one thing Biffa is good at, and that is lying. Stay away from these scammers please.

COWBOYS, BULLIES, SCAMMERS
By Jay, 11/23/21
This company are professional cowboys that trap you into rolling contracts (even if signed over 5 years ago). Called them today ''AGAIN'' to discuss some pricing...3rd time this year so BEAWARE as they keep putting their prices up and this time I was literally harassed over the phone by the most RUDE and MISERABLE WOMAN ever. They just increased their prices by 120% and I am absolutely shocked and disgusted with the way she spoke to me blaming Brexit, Covid, Inflation, BLABLABLA and that we put more weight in the bin than what we should... Recycling is going from £9 per lift to £21 and General waste from £17.50 per lift to £40.50. I signed this contract in October 2015 and it looks like the renewal is automatic every year by October. They are saying that I need to give 3 months notice 3 months before the end of the contract and they did threaten me over the phone saying that if I cancel now I'll have to pay 44% from the total remaining which apparently is around £2000. They will increase your prices 2/3 times per year, they will miss collections on a regular basis, they will not refund you any missing collections and they will do everything they can to complicate your life when you tell them you're leaving. Do not chose this BULLIES. You have been warned.

Avoid Biffa at all cost!
By Kevin, 07/20/21
Biffa is unreliable and overpriced. Their contract cancellation terms are unfair and shady and in essential are traps to keep you as long as possible. Apparently with a 12 month contract you must serve 3 month notice before the end of the 12 month contract but the contract will end 3 months after your end of contract date. It’s basically a 15 month contract with a 6 month notice period this is a SCAM! And if you missed the cancellation deadline the contract rolls over another 12 months no wait sorry 15 months because of their unfair cancellation policy. A consumer regulator needs to look into this rip off practice. We need to report Biffa to the consumer regulatory so they need to stop this shady contract terms.

The worst in every way possible
By Farouk Bhatti, 03/31/21
Do not use Biffa. This is all you need to know but to elaborate they simply do not do what they are supposed to which is collect your refuse. To add insult to injury, when they do collect your bin they’ll leave it wherever they feel like and you’ll have to drag it back to where you want it. Maybe that’s asking too much but it’s unacceptable in my books. You’ll end up wasting hours calling and emailing to get things sorted every week and even then you’ll end up with bin bags and rubbish outside the bin due to their incompetence that they will refuse to collect and in general it’s a nightmare. I feel sorry for every business that has a Biffa bin outside its premises.

Don't use Biffa at all, you will regret it if you do
By Mike Randino, 11/05/20
They lie and then lie again, don't turn up all the time and then when you cancel your contract which they replied to asking why, they then say its not cancelled. Save money, hassle and pain and use any one else apart from Biffa. You will only regret it if you use Biffa. As a business owner i deal with many business and Biffa are the worst i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Never again

Avoid like the plague
By Vicky, 10/09/20
During lock down when everyone stopped services and charges, their approach was to keep on charging us for no service provided! When we confronted and indirectly 'threatened' that we would inform other businesses in the area of their disgusting practices, they agreed to waive the fees for the period that we were closed. After re-opening, we communicated that one of the bins was damaged. Their 'wonderful' team picked up ALL the bins which left us with no waste collections. Communicating with them was a disaster. We chose to cancel the remaining of the contract and they charged with 'liquidation fees' and 'waste collection fees' even though they had removed the bins and this collected no waste. Of course no apology or ownership of their mistake throughout the process! On the plus side it was very entertaining to watch them try to operate as a proper business and failing. In all honesty we would pay triple the amount just to avoid working with them.

Terrible company to deal with
By A Galinakis, 09/22/20
Terrible company to deal with. If you want yours bin not to be collected but still pay for the service, go for Biffa! Also, they have a 6 months cancellation. I attach my final email with Biffa’s manager for your convenience: “Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the termination of your waste contract with us. In accordance with Biffa terms and conditions, all requests for termination must be received in writing within 3 months prior to the anniversary date for the contract to end 3 months after.   According to your account details the anniversary dates for the following: General Waste contract anniversary date is the 18th January, therefore due to the terms and conditions this account will expire on the 22nd April 2021   As such we can collect your containers and cancel your account with us on this date.   Should you still wish to cancel with immediate effect, we shall require a termination fee of 41% based on your current service charges. The current termination fee as of 21/09/20 is £221.42”

Read the small print!!
By peter drugan, 03/12/19
I wish i had looked at trust pilot before agreeing to have a Biffa skip. My collection was going up in price all the time and when the bin was emptied rubbish was left all around our yard, the driver never got out his wagon to pick it up just drove off every time. When i looked into removing the skip that I've had for over 12 months i found that i was in a rolling 12 months contract which ends in June, then added to this was a extra 3 month period before they cancel the contract. Customer services have been appalling. they're slow to respond if at all and have no empathy with the customer. My advice would be stay clear Biffa, there are many other local waste collection services that can provide skips and don't have small print contracts and people that are not just interested in getting money from you.

Very Dishonest
By Andrew Small, 01/31/18
I have found that this company has been charging me for waste that is not mine, there was a massive increase in the weekly lift charge that goes back nearly a year, this was noticed by our accounts dept who asked for an explanation. we contacted Biffa customer services who told us that the max weight we could put in our 1100L is 69kg and because our bin has been weighed at each collection at over 200KG this is why the price shot up. I questioned this weight as there is no way possible that we could generate this amount of weight in one week. I also mentioned that our bin sits alongside two other Biffa 1100L bins that belong to the neighbouring Business & questioned how the driver would know which bin was ours. I was assured that the driver Knows who's bin is who's and every bin is weighed separately and they insisted that someone must be filling our bin after hours. The customer service representative insisted that there could be no mistake!!!! I started to monitor the weight of our bin by weighing it on our MOT test Brake tester , these scales are calibrated regularly so there would be no major discrepancy. the max weight never exceeded 70KG. after 3 collections so I requested from customer services the measured weight of the Previous lifts, Surprise to say the response was that they had no weights for individual lifts as is was worked out on an average, this is not what they told us before ?? Today I made an effort to be at work for 5:00am to meet the collection driver and ask him what the procedure is for weighing the bin, he confirmed that they do not weigh each bin individually as this would take too long and the total of all three bins as a batch weight is recorded , I asked him to just weigh my bin and confirmation of the 70KG. multiply this by three bins and there is you 200KG . armed with this new information I sent via Email to the same customer services representative KEZIA JENKINS.Business Improvement Manager ?? Who gave no explanation of the fact she fed us with a load of Rubbish information and had no clue of what actually goes on and the response was : Good morning, After looking at the account you received your increase nearly a year ago therefore we will not be crediting. However we are happy to look at the current rate you are paying. I look forward to hearing from you. Not We are very sorry for the mistake and will sort this problem for you as you would expect but more like OK yes we have overcharged you but Tough Luck, Not very Good good is it. however now they have my back up so I will pursue this further as a matter of principle, the Business next door with the other Two Bins is part of a very Large Network of car dealerships and I am sure they will enjoy my little story about them paying for my waste also.
